Terms of Service
Effective date: November 4, 2026
These terms govern your use of MemoriesBack (the “Service”), available at https://memoriesback.com and operated by Jiansheng Jiang (“we”, “us”). By using the Service or buying the unlock, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
The Service is a browser-based tool that works on a Snapchat “Download My Data” export that you have already downloaded. Within your browser it:
- matches each photo with its caption/sticker overlay image and merges the two into one photo, where both have the same dimensions;
- writes the capture date and, where available, GPS location from your export’s metadata into photos (EXIF), converted to the local time of the place when a location is known, and the creation time and location into videos;
- leaves files it cannot match or does not support unchanged and lists them, with the reason, in a manifest;
- produces a ZIP containing the repaired files, the manifest and an offline
index.htmlalbum in three styles.
Current limitations include: overlays are not burned into video files (the overlay image is kept next to the video and shown on top of it in the album); split video parts are not joined; existing different dates or any existing GPS data in a file are not overwritten; very large exports may exceed what your browser or device can handle and may need to be processed in parts; mobile browsers are suited to small batches. Features may change over time.
The Service does not log in to Snapchat, does not ask for Snapchat credentials, and does not download content from Snapchat servers.
2. Not affiliated with Snap Inc.
MemoriesBack is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Snap Inc. “Snapchat” and related marks are trademarks of Snap Inc. and are used only to describe the files the Service works with. Your use of Snapchat and its data export is governed by Snap’s own terms.
3. Your files and your responsibilities
- Only use the Service with exports and files that belong to you or that you are otherwise legally permitted to process. Do not use it on someone else’s data without their permission.
- You keep all rights in your files. Because processing happens on your device, we do not receive a copy and claim no license to them.
- Keep your original export. The Service does not modify your original ZIP files, but you are responsible for keeping backups and for checking the output before deleting anything.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer the licensing of, or resell the Service.
4. Free trial, price and one-time unlock
- Free: you can process your oldest 100 photos without paying, so you can check the result on your own export first. Videos are included with the paid unlock.
- Unlock: a one-time payment of $9.99 (USD, plus any applicable tax shown at checkout) unlocks processing of your full export in the Service. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Devices: your receipt email includes a license key you can use to restore the unlock in another browser or on another device, up to 3 activations.
- The unlock applies to the Service as it exists and as we maintain it; it does not include custom work, manual processing of your files, or future separate products.
5. Payments through Creem (Merchant of Record)
Orders are processed by Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record and reseller. Creem handles payment, sales tax/VAT, invoicing and refunds, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to the checkout. Your bank statement may show Creem’s name.
6. Refunds
See our Refund Policy. Refunds are issued through Creem. When a purchase is refunded, the related license key may be deactivated.
7. No guarantee that every file can be repaired
Snapchat export formats vary and change. We cannot guarantee that every file in every export will be matched, repaired, or given a date or location, or that the output will meet your particular needs. Use the free trial to check results on your own export before buying.
8. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. We may suspend access to the Service for misuse. If we discontinue the Service, you may keep any files you have already produced.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence mandatorily applies.
